12. Emergency Preparedness - Emergency Preparedness Plan

Establish and implement a comprehensive emergency preparedness plan

Rationale: Developing, implementing, and distributing a comprehensive emergency response plan increases the clarity of critical messaging and improves coordination in the event of an emergency, which can reduce the risk of negative impacts such as injuries and the spread of infectious disease.

Requirements

Demonstrate compliance with the option below:

Emergency Preparedness Plan (Full Credit):

Demonstrate compliance with all the following requirements:

Low-Rise Residential with shared interior spaces (LR+), Low-Rise Residential with no shared interior spaces (LR)

1. Establish and implement an emergency preparedness plan for the project that is at least as rigorous as the Fitwel Emergency Preparedness Plan.

   The Fitwel Emergency Preparedness Plan can be found at: https://www.fitwel.org/resources/fitwel-v3.

2. Share the plan with all residential occupants within the project through a minimum of one of the following methods:
   • relevant tenant lease or manual
   • a digital platform, such as a website, digital application, or display screen in common areas
   • communication material, such as notification emails or newsletters.

  • Upload the emergency preparedness plan that will be implemented.      
• Requirement 2:
  • Checkbox to certify that the plan will be shared with all residential occupants within the project through the following methods (minimum one):

    • a digital platform, such as a website, digital application, or display screen in common areas
    • communication material, such as notification emails or newsletters.
