Requirements
Demonstrate compliance with one of the options below:
Option 1 - Accessible Common Break Area (Full Credit):
To achieve full credit, demonstrate compliance with all the following requirements:
Multi-Tenant Retail
- Include a common break area(s) within the building that is accessible and free of charge to all building occupants.
- Provide all of the following features within the identified common break area:
- a refrigerator
- a sink
- a microwave
- seating and tables.
- Ensure that the common break area is designed to accommodate all building occupants throughout different hours of the day.
Retail
- Include a common break area(s) within the building that is accessible and free of charge to all full- and part-time employees and staff within tenant spaces.
- Provide all of the following features within the identified common break area:
- a refrigerator
- a sink
- a microwave
- seating and tables.
3. Ensure that the common break area is designed to accommodate all occupants that have access to the common space throughout different hours of the day.
Option 2 - Common Break Area for Building Management Only (Partial Credit):
The project may achieve partial credit by demonstrating compliance with the following requirements:
Mutli-Tenant Retail
- Include a common break area(s) within the building that is accessible and free of charge to all full- and part-time employees and staff within building owner/management spaces.
- Provide all of the following features within the identified common break area:
- a refrigerator
- a sink
- a microwave
- seating and tables.
- Ensure that the common break area is designed to accommodate all full- and part-time employees and staff within building owner/management spaces within the building throughout different hours of the day.
