Provide access to support services
Rationale: Free, publicized, and regular support services with a remote option help occupants navigate complex issues and planning needs, fostering enhanced community engagement and reducing stress levels and feelings of isolation — contributing to diminished risk of anxiety and depression.
Requirements
Demonstrate compliance with one of the options below:
Option 1 - On-Site Support Services (Full Credit):
Demonstrate compliance with all of the following requirements:
- Provide access to a minimum of two of the following qualifying support services:
- financial and personal life planning services
- active citizen engagement services (such as a library card, voter registration, or ballot support)
- monitored medication management and adherence education services
- language and interpretation services for non-native speaking occupants
- transportation services
- life-stage and interest groups, such as:
- bereavement or loss
- parents
- solo dwellers
- caregivers
- managers
- essential workers
- expectant mothers
- special interest groups such as advocacy, athletics, or arts
- identity groups, such as:
- gender
- people of color
- illness
- (dis)ability LGBTQ+.
- Confirm that the identified support services are free of charge.
- Ensure that the identified support services are offered a minimum of once per week.
- Ensure that the identified support services are publicized to all employee and residential occupants.
- Locate support services on-site.
- Provide virtual accessibility for those who cannot meet in-person.
Option 2 - Access to Off-Site Services (Full Credit):
The project may achieve partial credit by demonstrating compliance with the following requirements:
- Provide access to a minimum of two of the following qualifying support services located on- or off-site:
- financial and personal life planning services
- active citizen engagement services, (such as a library card, voter registration or ballot support)
- monitored medication management and adherence education services
- language and interpretation services for non-native speaking occupants
- transportation services
- life-stage and interest groups, such as:
- bereavement or loss
- parents
- solo dwellers
- caregivers
- managers
- essential workers
- expectant mothers
- special interest groups such as advocacy, athletics, or arts
- identity groups, such as:
- gender
- people of color
