11. Operations & Maintenance - Cleaning Protocol

\In response to your feedback, we will be providing the following expansion:

Allow additional pathway for projects that have Cleaning Protocols that only apply to Shared Areas, Common Areas, and Workspaces (but not restrooms). Additionally, we will be providing the following clarification: Implementation language update to clarify that projects that do not have to have restrooms or common areas/amenities can implement this strategy in shared areas (and workspaces for applicable typologies) for full credit.

Establish and implement a regular cleaning protocol for all shared areas

Rationale: Implementing a cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance policy that requires daily cleaning in common indoor areas and includes guidelines on safe cleaning and disinfectant products helps protect occupants from chemical exposure while ensuring effective disinfection of pathogens, contributing to reduced risk of contagious disease transmission.

To achieve full credit, demonstrate compliance with all of the following requirements:

Multi-Tenant Retail

1. Establish and implement enhanced cleaning and maintenance practices through an enhanced cleaning, disinfecting and maintenance protocol that is at least as rigorous as the v3 Fitwel Cleaning Protocol.

2. Ensure that the protocol is applicable to all break areas and bathrooms under the control of building management on tenant floors.

Retail

1. Establish and implement enhanced cleaning and maintenance practices through an enhanced cleaning, disinfecting and maintenance protocol that is at least as rigorous as the v3 Fitwel Cleaning Protocol.

2. Ensure that the protocol is applicable to all break areas and bathrooms within the tenant spaces.
