What is the Viral Response Module (VRM)?

The Viral Response Module (VRM) is Fitwel's response to occupant health when it comes to mitigating viral transmission – or the spread of viral diseases – within the built environment. This includes viral outbreaks such as COVID-19, the flu, or the common cold. The VRM addresses viral spread in three key ways: by enhancing indoor environments, encouraging behavioral change, and building occupant trust. The Fitwel VRM is designed for rapid roll-out. Enterprise-level Viral Response Certification can be achieved in as little as six weeks. Upon certification, the turnaround for asset-level Viral Response Approval is two weeks.
