Confirm that lead has been properly abated and control measures are implemented
Rationale: Lead control measures protect occupants from toxic effects of lead exposure and lead poisoning which can include cardiovascular disease, cognitive impairments, nervous system impairments, kidney disease, and behavioral issues.

Requirements
Demonstrate compliance with one of the options below:
Option 1 - Lead Control Measures (Full Credit):
Demonstrate compliance with all of the following requirements:
Low-Rise Residential with shared interior spaces (LR+), Low-Rise Residential with no shared interior spaces (LR)
- Implement lead control measures throughout all buildings within the project that include one of the following:
- removal
- encapsulation
- enclosure
- repair
- clean up.
- Ensure that the identified control measures are performed by a certified professional.
- Confirm that the identified control measures are required for future renovations within all buildings within the project.
- Confirm that the control measures are implemented in all areas of all buildings within the project.
Option 2 - Lead-Free Construction (Full Credit):
Demonstrate compliance with the following requirement:
Low-Rise Residential with shared interior spaces (LR+), Low-Rise Residential with no shared interior spaces (LR)
- Ensure that all buildings began or will begin construction after the use of lead and lead-containing paint in construction products was banned in the country or region where project is located.

Design Pathway (LR+, LR)
Option 1:
- Requirement 1:
- Upload legal documentation (such as a certificate or remediation report submitted to authorities) showing the lead control measure that have been or will be implemented within all buildings within the project.
- Checkbox to confirm that all buildings within the project are in compliance with the lead control measures.
- Checkbox to certify that at least one of the following lead control measures were or will be implemented (minimum one):
- removal
- encapsulation
- enclosure
- repair
- clean up.
- Requirement 2:
- Checkbox to certify that the identified control measures have been or will be performed by a certified professional.
- Requirement 3:
- Checkbox to certify that the identified control measures will be required for future renovations within all buildings within the project.
- Requirement 4:
- Checkbox to certify that the control measures are or will be implemented in all areas of all buildings within the project.
Option 2:
- Requirement 1:
- Text box to input the year construction for the oldest building within the project began.
- Text box to input the year in which lead and lead-containing paint in construction products was banned within the local jurisdiction.
- Upload legal documentation (such as a certificate or reports submitted to authorities) demonstrating the date that construction on the oldest building within the project began or will begin.
