The Fitwel v3 revisions are here to simplify certification, increase flexibility, and maximize impact—all while maintaining the evidence-based rigor you rely on. These updates, inspired by your feedback, will roll out in phases on the Fitwel Platform from December 2024 through January 2025, bringing streamlined scorecards, expanded compliance pathways, and tools designed to meet your project needs.
Key Dates for the Fitwel Platform Transition:
December 11: Introduction of the v3 Multi-Tenant Base Building (MTBB) Scorecard
- Similar to the v2.1 MTBB Scorecard, this new v3 scorecard is specifically designed for certification that applies to projects with on-site building management occupants focused on building management staff and areas within their control.
- The updated v3 scorecard streamlines recertification from v2.1, offering enhanced strategies to maximize impact while providing a clear certification path for projects with limited control over tenant spaces.
- For those aiming to address the well-being of all building occupants, we recommend using one of the Multi-Tenant Whole Building Scorecards tailored to your project.
- A complete list of MTBB strategies is available in the Checklists Section of the Help Center.
December 25-January 2: Our office will be closed for the holiday season
- Submissions made before the holidays will exclude closure dates in review timelines
- Submissions during the closure will be processed starting January 2, 2025.
January 2-3: Blackout Period (Offline work can continue)
- To ensure a smooth and streamlined release of the January revisions, we will implement a 2-day blackout period for all v3 new and existing projects. This will give our team the necessary time to prepare for the revisions.
- During this period, you will not be able to register new v3 projects or access existing v3 projects.
- Please note, this will not impact any v2.1 in-progress projects.
January 6: Strategy Revisions Across All Scorecards
- We’re making revisions to ensure Fitwel scorecards remain relevant for all asset types, regardless of age, location, or budget.
-
Key changes include:
-
- Removed Strategies: Strategies with feasibility issues and are outside of project scope will be removed based on feedback and collaboration with the Center for Active Design.
- Commercial Interior (CI) Scorecard Enhancement: The scorecard will be refined to focus solely on tenant-controlled strategies, making it more targeted and applicable to a broader range of tenant spaces.
- Expanded and Clarified Strategies: Additional compliance pathways and clarifications will be introduced to allow for more flexibility and applicability across project typologies for select strategies.
- Revised Applicability: In response to feasibility or suitability of project typologies, select strategies will be revised based on relevance of space and/or occupants.
- For a detailed list of changes to each scorecard, please refer to our v3 Revision Change Logs.
-
January: Renaming of Multi-Tenant Building Scorecards for Clarity
To help you choose the right scorecard for your project, we’re updating the names of the Multi-Tenant Building scorecards for clarity:
- Multi-Tenant Building without On-Site Management is now Multi-Tenant Whole Building without On-Site Management (MTWB)
- Multi-Tenant Building with On-Site Management is now Multi-Tenant Whole Building with On-Site Management (MTWB+)
