If you are planning to achieve Fitwel Certification in 2025, please refer to the following schedule below, noting both the Submission Deadlines and Client Response Deadlines. Submissions that miss these deadlines will be eligible for certification in 2026.
Important Notes:
- The Fitwel Certification Team will begin the review process only after receiving complete project documentation through the Fitwel Platform and confirmation of fee payment.
- Both documentation and payment must be submitted by 11:59 PM ET on the applicable deadline.
General Users
General users can expect a 16-week review timeline.
- Initial and Recertification Submission Deadline: August 8, 2025.
- Client Response Deadline: October 31, 2025.
Ambassadors (Expedited 12-week review)
To qualify for the expedited review, ensure that an accredited Fitwel Ambassador submits your project.
- Initial and Recertification Submission Deadline: September 5, 2025.
- Client Response Deadline: November 14, 2025.
Champions + Providers (Expedited 12-week review)
Only submissions by registered Champions or Providers qualify for expedited review
- Initial and Recertification Submission Deadline: September 19, 2025.
- Client Response Deadline: November 28, 2025.
*Recertifications (10-week review*)
Projects pursuing recertification will generally follow the same submission and review timelines as their relevant submitter type (General User, Ambassador, Champion, or Provider), as described above.
However, recertifications typically follow a shortened 10-week review process*:
- 4-week Initial Review
- 4-week Client Response
- 2-week Final Review
* Important Note:
Recertifications from earlier versions (e.g., v2.0 Built to v2.1 Built or v2.1 Built to v2.1 Built) are eligible for this shortened review timeline if initiated after the release of recertification efficiencies.
Why Meeting Submission Deadlines Matters
Meeting your submission deadline ensures your project stays on track and avoids delays in the certification process. Here’s why timely submission is important:
- Keep Your Project on Schedule: Missing a deadline may push your certification completion into the following year.
- Meet Internal Goals: Submitting on time supports your company’s annual goals and project milestones.
- Ensure Budget Alignment: Timely submissions help ensure certification costs align with financial planning and budget cycles.
- Prepare for Reporting Requirements: Staying on schedule supports timely completion for any relevant reporting or organizational needs.
- Use Team Resources Efficiently: Avoid last-minute rushes and manage your team’s workload more effectively.
