What is the Relational Data Tool? 

Fitwel’s new Relational Data Tool is a suite of data insights charts that allow real estate companies to rank their Fitwel Certified properties’ and entities’ healthy building performance against their peers. The Performance among v2.1 Star Rated Projects chart is the first of a suite of Relational Data charts that will be released in the following months. 

How does this tool add value to my company/projects? 

Fitwel’s Relational Data tool adds value to Fitwel Certification by providing users entity-level benchmarks against like-assets. If you want to make sure that your properties are in the top 10 percentile, you'll know how and where to invest. If your median score is lower than your peers’, you’ll know you need to achieve higher levels of certification in order to get there.

While similar ranking systems exist for environment-related metrics (the E in ESG), Fitwel’s Relational Data Tool is the first of its kind to demonstrate how companies perform against the healthy building strategies, highlighting the position of a specific asset in relation to other assets within the account and comparing it to how peer assets are performing. These insights are valuable for companies to highlight their market positioning for high-performing properties, or make educated decisions on how to improve properties that are performing below the peer median. 

What will it look like on the Fitwel Platform? 

The Relational Data Tool visualizes key data insights, making it easy for a company to digest where and how to improve its healthy building performance and communicate achievements to stakeholders. Below we are sharing sample screenshots as visual examples. In addition to seeing the status of your projects and their impact on the Health Impact Categories, you will now be able to see the Performance among v2.1 Star Rated Projects chart as part of the account data dashboard. 

As of April 13, 2023, you will be able to see your account's Performance among v2.1 Star Rated Projects on the account level of your Fitwel account on the Platform. This is only the first of many steps! We will continue to develop tools to help you visualize the performance of your certified projects and compare their performance to similar projects using the Fitwel standards. The tool will be expanded soon to demonstrate performance against key "S" metrics most closely monitored by investors, as identified in the  ​​New Investor Consensus: The Rising Demand for Healthy Buildings (March 2021).

What is the timeline for platform updates and product feature releases? 

The Relational Data Tool was announced in February 2023. In April, we released a feature that shows Performance among v2.1 Star Rated Projects.

We’re also preparing for future releases.

Do I need to pay for the Relational Data Tool? 

As of April 2023, the tool is free of charge. 

How do others see my data? 

Your account, company, and asset information will remain private, with only you and your designated collaborators and portfolio managers within your Fitwel account able to see specific Relational Data charts information. All peer data visualized in the Relational Data Tool is completely anonymized, and your information will be anonymized to anyone outside of your account.
