Provide occupants access to a dedicated exercise room
Rationale: Providing a free exercise room with flexible hours and accessible equipment supports increased physical activity, contributing to decreased risk of chronic cardiovascular diseases related to sedentary lifestyles, and psychological conditions such as anxiety.
Requirements
Demonstrate compliance with one of the options below:
Option 1 - Exercise Room (Full Credit):
Demonstrate compliance with all the following requirements:
- Include an exercise room that is located within the building.
- Provide access to the exercise room free of charge to all building occupants.
- Include all of the following exercise equipment within the exercise room:

- mobile fitness equipment (eg, yoga mats, free weights, resistance bands)
- stationary equipment (eg, indoor bike, elliptical, treadmill).

- Ensure the fitness facility is accessible and operational a minimum of 12 hours a day, seven days per week.
Option 2 - Exercise Room for Residential Occupants Only (Partial Credit):
The project may achieve partial credit by demonstrating compliance with the following requirements:
- Include an exercise room that is located within the building.
- Provide access to the exercise room free of charge to all residential occupants within the building.
- Include all of the following exercise equipment within the exercise room:
- mobile fitness equipment (eg, yoga mats, free weights, resistance bands)
- stationary equipment (eg, indoor bike, elliptical, treadmill).
- Ensure the fitness facility is accessible and operational a minimum of 12 hours a day, seven days per week.
