12. Emergency Preparedness - Emergency Preparedness Plan

Establish and implement a comprehensive emergency preparedness plan

Rationale: Developing, implementing, and distributing a comprehensive emergency response plan increases the clarity of critical messaging and improves coordination in the event of an emergency, which can reduce the risk of negative impacts such as injuries and the spread of infectious disease.

Requirements

Demonstrate compliance with the below:

Emergency Preparedness Plan (Full Credit):

To achieve full credit, demonstrate compliance with all of the following requirements:

Multi-Tenant Whole Building, Multi-Tenant Whole Building+, Multi-Tenant Base Building

1. Establish and implement an emergency preparedness plan for the project that is at least as rigorous as the v3 Fitwel Emergency Preparedness Plan.

2. Share the policy with all tenants within the project through a minimum of one of the following methods:
   1. • relevant tenant lease or manual
      • a digital platform, such as a website, digital application, or display screen in common areas
      • communication material, such as notification emails or newsletters

Single-Tenant, Commercial Interior

1. Establish and implement an emergency preparedness plan for the project that is at least as rigorous as the v3 Fitwel Emergency Preparedness Plan.

2. Share the policy with all tenants within the project through a minimum of one of the following methods:
   1. • relevant tenant lease or manual
      • a digital platform, such as a website, digital application, or display screen in common areas
