All scorecards seek to improve the health outcomes and quality of life of regular occupants within the project boundary, as well as doubly improve health outcomes of the surrounding community. We visualize the application of Fitwel’s building scorecard products in order to highlight the areas under and outside of consideration when applying Fitwel. As a rule, regularly occupied areas per scorecard are the focus of certification, and additional interior and exterior features, including those located offsite but within qualifying distance, can be levered to improve the health of occupants and, in turn, maximize a Fitwel rating.
Senior Housing Building Scorecards are applicable to properties that provide housing and services for aging residents. Properties that provide an independent living experience, as well as those that provide assisted living services and/or memory care can use this scorecard. This scorecard impacts all spaces within the building, including those occupied by residents as well as those occupied by employees.
Regular Occupants: All residents and staff
Regularly Occupied Areas: Residential units; residents’ common shared areas; staff workspaces; and staff common shared areas
