All scorecards seek to improve the health outcomes and quality of life of occupants within the project boundary, as well as doubly improve health outcomes of the surrounding community. We visualize the application of Fitwel’s building scorecard products in order to highlight the areas under and outside of consideration when applying Fitwel. As a rule, regularly occupied areas per scorecard are the focus of certification, and additional interior and exterior features, including those located offsite but within qualifying distance, can be levered to improve the health of occupants and, in turn, maximize a Fitwel rating.
Commercial Interior Scorecards are applicable to contiguous spaces within a commercial building that are occupied or controlled by a single tenant. The scorecard impacts the spaces occupied by a single tenant.
Occupant Impact:
- All full- and part-time employees and staff within the tenant space only, including on-site staff under direct employment by the tenant(s) and sub-contracted staff.
Areas of Impact:
- All contiguous interior spaces leased to and controlled by a single tenant, including elevator lobbies and bathrooms on tenant-occupied floors.
- All common areas within the building accessible to the tenant.
- All on-site exterior spaces accessible to the tenant such as parking, courtyards, rooftops, etc.

Can I still apply for the Commercial Interiors system if the spaces are not contiguous? For example, a tenant locates on the 2nd floor and the 4th floor.
Thank you.
Yes you can!
